Lisa Milnor – Teacher, Therapist, Trainer
Bringing together the transformational practices of Mindfulness, Yoga and TRE helps us access our innate wisdom and deepen compassion for ourselves and all other beings. In this way we become more empowered to be the change we wish to see in the world.
With a business background in Finance and Accountancy, I discovered yoga in my early 30’s and found it an essential counter-balance to a demanding career. Wishing to deepen my own personal practice I undertook three years of yoga teacher training and qualified as a British Wheel of Yoga teacher in 2012. Through my own practice and teaching I came to realise and experience the transformational healing power of yoga and in 2012 had a total career change and undertook training with the Clear Mind Institute as an integrated Yoga Therapist and then as a Mindfulness Teacher. More recently I have also completed training in TRE (Tension and Trauma releasing exercise) and am currently one of a small, but growing, community of certified providers in the UK. I am also trained by Mindfulness in Schools Project to offer .b foundations in schools and colleges to staff.
My teaching has been informed by training with highly respected teachers such as Jon Kabat-Zinn, Saki Santoreli, Cathy-Mae Karelse and Donna Farhi and I continue to deepen my own mindfulness and yoga practice through, daily meditation, yoga and TRE, attending retreats, participating in CPD training and regular teaching of classes, courses and retreats.
A Mindfulness Teacher that meets the UK Good Practice Guidelines
The Clear Mind Institute (CMI) is a member of the UK Network of Mindfulness Based Teacher Training Organisations. This hard-earned affiliation places CMI among leading training organisations that uphold rigorous standards for mindfulness teacher training. As a CMI teacher, I am trained to adhere to the Good Practice Guidelines for Teachers delivering Mindfulness to the community. I am listed on the UK Teachers Network website as someone who meets these guidelines ie is suitably trained, is committed to continuous professional development, holds appropriate insurance and is receiving supervision for their teaching.
