Join Emma Slade (Pema Deki) and Lisa Milnor for a day exploring and cultivating presence through awareness of the body and breath.
You will be guided through Mindfulness meditation practices such as the body scan, walking meditation, breath meditation and mindful movement. With an emphasis on kindness the day will be interwoven with teachings from the Satipaṭṭhāna Sutra, the Buddha’s teaching on cultivating mindfulness.
Many of us seek the benefits that Mindful Yoga and Meditation offer – a greater sense of calm and ease amidst the busyness of life, the clarity to step back and respond more skilfully to the physical, emotional and mental challenges that life offers us and the cultivation of kindness towards ourselves and others that manifests as global happiness and wellbeing.
Through these practices we learn how to support our own physical, emotional and mental wellbeing by mindfully connecting to the body, breath, emotions and the world we inhabit.
This day retreat is suitable for all, with no previous experience of mindfulness, meditation or yoga required. All that is needed is an open and curious heart and mind!
Emma has been described as “the fun Nun” and has a very accessible, engaging and often humorous way of teaching. She has taught yoga for over 18 years and is a British Wheel of Yoga teacher and Foundation Course tutor. Her yoga journey led to the decision to formally become a Buddhist in 2003 and, in 2012, to live under vows as a Buddhist nun. In 2015 Emma founded the charity Opening Your Heart to Bhutan which she continues to run with huge energy, working to benefit disabled children and young adults in Bhutan.
She has been widely featured on national and international radio, press and TV and is in high demand as an inspiring teacher and speaker.
